Perks

Perks are special characteristics of a character that bestow bonuses to primary/secondary attributes, skills, combat, or other facets of a character. Each chosen Perk gives a character a modifier to their Karma rating. At the end of character generation, a character is not allowed to have any points in their Karma rating. Players may only choose a Perk once for a character.

Perk Effect Karma
Muscular Gain +1 to STR attribute. (+3)
Tough Gain +1 to END attribute. (+3)
Hyperactive Gain +1 to DEX attribute. (+3)
Bookworm Gain +1 to INT attribute. (+3)
Stubborn Gain +1 to WILL attribute. (+3)
Wiseguy Gain +1 to WIT attribute. (+3)
Fast Gain +1 to Speed. (+3)
Mule Can carry an additional 50 pounds more than normal. May only be picked by a character with a STR of 10 or less. (+2)
Strong Back Can force an additional 50 pounds more than normal. May only be picked by a character with a STR of 9 or less. (+2)
Energetic Gain +1 to Fatigue. (+2)
Combat Training Gain +1 attack per melee round. (+3)
Sure Shot Gain +10% to Strike modifier. (+3)
Cautious Gain +10% to Defense modifier. (+3)
Skillful Gain +10% to any one already selected skill. Must be a skill that uses percentile (+3)
Fortunate Character gets a bonus Karma point to spend during the level-up process. (+2)
Vigorous Gain 10 extra points of Vim. (+1)
Hearty Gain an extra 10 Hit Points. (+3)
Rich Start off with $2000 instead of the normal $1000 when purchasing equipment. (+2)
Lucky Not only do you get +10% to all combat and skill rolls, but everyone within 2 squares (10 ft) of you also gets a +10% penalty to all rolls as well. This includes enemies as well. (+2)

Quirks

Quirks are special characteristics of a character that incur penalties to primary/secondary attributes, skills, combat, or other facets of a character. Each chosen Quirk gives a character a modifier to their Karma rating. At the end of character generation, a character is not allowed to have any points in their Karma rating. Players may only choose a Quirk once for a character.

Quirk Effect Karma
Pansy Has -2 to STR attribute. May only be picked with a character who has 3 or better in this attribute. (-1)
Weak Has -2 to END attribute. May only be picked with a character who has 3 or better in this attribute. (-1)
Slothful Has -2 to DEX attribute. May only be picked with a character who has 3 or better in this attribute. (-1)
Stupid Has -2 to INT attribute. May only be picked with a character who has 3 or better in this attribute. (-1)
Pushover Has -2 to WILL attribute. May only be picked with a character who has 3 or better in this attribute. (-1)
Simpleton Has -2 to WIT attribute. May only be picked with a character who has 3 or better in this attribute. (-1)
Slow Has -1 to Speed. (-1)
Weakling Can carry 50 pounds less than normal. May only be picked by a character with a STR of 7 or more. (-1)
Pathetic Can lift 50 pounds less than normal. May only be picked by a character with a STR of 6 or more. (-1)
Lazy Has -1 to Fatigue. (-1)
Unmotivated Has -1 attack per melee round. (-2)
Uncoordinated Has -20% to Strike modifier. (-2)
Clumsy Has -20% to Defense modifier. (-2)
Talentless Hack Has -20% to any one skill. Must select a skill that uses percentile. (-1)
Unfortunate Character gets one less Karma point to spend during the level-up process. So even though this character still needs 10 Karma points in order to level up, they will only be able to spend 9 to improve skills or stats. (-2)
Lethargic Has 10 less points of Vim. (-1)
Annoying You are not particularly well liked by any NPCs you come across and many may not be willing to help you or may even be downright hostile towards you. Prices at stores will often be up to 50% higher for this character as well. In combat, enemies will tend to attack you more. (-1)
Bad Luck Not only do you get -15% to all combat and skill rolls, but everyone within 2 squares (10 ft) of you also gets a -10% penalty to all rolls as well. (-1)
Poor Start off with $500 instead of the normal $1000 for purchasing equipment. (-1)
